About B&H Tuition
B&H started with a simple idea: tuition could feel different.
We wanted to create the kind of tuition we would want for our own children — somewhere learners could get proper academic support without feeling like everything was about grades, pressure or what they couldn't do.
That might mean helping someone finally get their head around a tricky Maths topic, preparing for SATs or GCSEs, working towards a Functional Skills qualification, or finding a way back into learning after a difficult experience with education.
Different learners. Different goals. The same B&H behind them.
How B&H began
Before starting B&H Tuition, both of us had already built up years of experience working in education.
Hannah began her career in primary education after university — and, years before we became business partners, she actually taught Beth's daughter! Beth also began her career as a teaching assistant in a primary school before later moving into private education.
We eventually found ourselves working alongside each other and quickly realised that we made a really good team. When the opportunity came to create B&H Tuition, we already shared a very clear idea of the kind of learning environment we wanted it to be.

What we wanted B&H to be
We wanted somewhere children could learn without dreading walking through the door. Somewhere they could ask questions, get things wrong, have a laugh and be themselves.
Of course we want our learners to progress, achieve qualifications and reach their potential — but never at the expense of their confidence or wellbeing.
For both of us, that came from our own experiences in education. Hannah had seen first-hand how much difference the right teacher, approach and environment could make to a child. Beth had experienced it from both sides — working in education and as a parent whose own daughter needed a learning environment where she didn't feel behind, frustrated or insecure about the things she found difficult.
Those experiences were different, but they led us to the same place: we wanted to create the kind of tuition we both believed children deserved.
Meet Beth and Hannah
Hannah Willingham
Tutor
Hannah is a warm, patient teacher who has a brilliant way of making learners feel comfortable, including those who arrive lacking confidence or worried about getting things wrong.
She teaches English and Maths, with Maths being a particular strength. She’s great at breaking tricky topics down, explaining them in different ways and sticking with a learner until something finally clicks. Her lessons are relaxed and there’s usually plenty of laughter, but there’s always real learning happening too.
A qualified teacher with a degree in Sports Coaching and Performance Science, Hannah has experience across both primary and private education. She has supported learners to pass Functional Skills Maths qualifications and GCSE learners to achieve fantastic results.

Beth Fisher
Tutor
Beth is an approachable and encouraging tutor who takes time to get to know her learners and build their confidence. As a home-educating parent herself, she also understands how important finding the right support for your child can be.
English is Beth’s main teaching area, with particular strengths in Functional Skills English, spelling and handwriting. She’s patient and flexible, adapting her teaching to the learner and helping them feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and having a go.
With experience across both primary and private education, Beth has successfully supported learners through all areas of Functional Skills English and is especially proud of her 100% pass rate in Speaking, Listening & Communicating.
